Felisa Northern DNP-APRN
Felisa has an extenisve medical background in critical care, cardiac and geriatric care. In an effort to understand the root of chronic illness, promote advance more holistic approach to health, and encourage wellness goals in her patients, she has also studied functional health and nutrition. After leaving the bedside as a Respiratory Therapist, Felisa obtained her BSN from Mount Carmel College of Nursing. She continued her education obtaining her MSN from Ball State University and finally earning her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama. Felisa has been a champion for those without a voice and through her Capstone Project she was able to systematically improve pain evaluation and management in dementia patients in SNF. She is a passionate advocate for geriatric patients as well as for the education of nurses in the clinical setting. She is a sought after preceptor and mentor in her profession and community. Because of her background in home care and case management coupled with her medical background, Felisa has been instrumental in helping homebound patients achieve the care they need at home and improve the quality of living for patients and their families.
